AUSTIN, TX – October 30, 2006 –
90.5 KUT-FM Public Radio renews their contract with Public Radio Partners (PRP) to serve as the station’s exclusive representative for all local corporate underwriting through August 2009. Revenues generated from corporate underwriting help provide the informative and cultural programs found on public radio, and help the station evolve to serve the community.
Representation by Public Radio Partners since February 2002 has boosted underwriting revenue by an average of 25% annually over prior year for the past 4 years.
Public Radio Partners’ success stems from its ability to communicate public radio’s marketing value to the business community and align with underwriters who value public radio’s non-commercial nature and quality programming.
During the past contract term, PRP has helped introduce new marketing opportunities to the Austin business community through sponsorship of traffic reports and creation of the Independent Retailer Kit. The Independent Retailer Kit provides a meaningful connection between KUT-FM and the local independent retailers which thrive in Austin and contribute to the community’s unique flavor.
With the recent addition of web and streaming sponsorships on the newly renovated kut.org, Public Radio Partners will balance their focus on developing best new media sales practices while sustaining the growth of traditional on-air underwriting. “To that aim, we’ve devised KUT Community Impact Programs, customized blends of all media vehicles, which provide underwriters deeper and broader reach among the station’s audience”, commented Kirk Nelson, VP of Sales and Marketing for Public Radio Partners.
